The Beginning

Our customers in Werrington wanted a pathway from their decking area to the rear of their garden but wanted something modern and low maintenance.

Work we carried out

We suggested a Resin Bound pathway with solar lighting.

The garden area was excavated and a new base installed ready for block edgings.

Once the edgings were installed we masked off the lighting areas and the install was troweled with White Flint aggregate bound in UV resin. Once set the solar lights were dropped into place.

The end result is a modern looking path with very little maintenance that looks great at night.

The Beginning

Our client had a concrete driveway that they wanted to improve the look of and increase the width of at the same time.

Work we carried out

We recommended a resin bound installation as the majority of the existing driveway could stay in place and simply repaired where required prior to resin’ing… meaning much less excavation and keeping the cost down.

The drive was widened at the entrance to the property by approximately 1 metre and new recessed manholes installed to tidy the entire area and massively improve the aesthetics of the driveway.

The finished install was completed in Golden Pea aggregate with charcoal edgings and looks superb, generating a lot of interest from neighbours and passersby.

The Beginning

Our client had a tarmac driveway which they wanted to widen and improve with a resin bound or block paved surface.

Work we carried out

Due to the fact that the existing driveway was tarmac this meant that the area could be overlaid with minimum excavation if a resin bound install was to be chosen.

This was the route the customer wanted to go and we started by widening the drive by approximately 2 metres.

New edging blocks were installed and the entire area was finished in 1-3 and 2-5mm Golden Pea aggregate bound in 7kg UVR resin hand troweled between 18-20mm.

The Beginning

Our client had an area in front of their garage that they wanted to pave at their lovely property in Werrington Village.

Work we carried out

The existing gravel was excavated and disposed of and new MOT type-1 hardcore installed and compacted.

Once the hardcore base has been installed approximately 50mm of sharp sand is tipped onto the install area, levelled and then screeded to a nice flat base ready for the blocks to be installed on.

The customer liked the idea of Bradstone Woburn Rumbled blocks in three sizes to compliment their property.

A new recessed manhole cover was installed and once all blocks were installed the entire area is compacted again with kiln dried sand used between the blocks to complete the install.

The Beginning

Our client had a large driveway which was previously gravelled and they wanted to improve by making it easier to walk on but didn’t want block paving as they wanted minimum maintenance.

Work we carried out

The existing gravel was excavated and disposed of and new MOT type-1 hardcore installed and compacted.

New edging blocks were installed and the area at the front of the property widened to allow more space for parking.

Once the edging blocks were installed the entire area had an open course of bitumen laid and the area was once again compacted.

Finally after many days of rubbish weather we had the opportunity to finish the install with Pro Resin Alloy aggregate, trowelled by hand in UVR Resin at 18-20mm.

The customer is over the moon with the final result and the install has attracted a lot of attention from passers-by.

The Beginning

Our client had a large driveway which was previously block paved with an area of loose gravel.

The blocks had faded and sunk in a lot of places and there was an awful amount of weeds and moss that our client was fed up of having to deal with so we recommended a Resin Bound driveway.

Work we carried out

The existing gravel and old block paving was excavated and disposed of.

We installed 12 tonne of MOT Type-1 hardcore to make sure the install had a good strong base and the entire install area was compacted numerous times.

Edging blocks were installed and instead of simply having a large car park like drive, we suggested splitting the install area with a decorative centre piece to make things look less commercial.

Once blocks were set, the area was topped with open course bitumen and finished with Daltex Silver aggregate hand troweled in UVR Resin.

The end result is a clean, crisp looking driveway that will require next to no maintenance and glistens in the sun as areas of the aggregate laid reflect the sun.

The Beginning

Chris and his partner had a large driveway area with loose gravel which they wanted to improve with block paving.

Work we carried out

The existing gravel was excavated and disposed of.

We installed 12 tonne of MOT Type-1 hardcore to make sure the install had a good strong base and the entire install area was compacted numerous times.

It was decided that grey Tegula blocks in two sizes would be used for the driveway and these were installed and the driveway was again compacted.

Once the area was dry we then covered the install with Kiln dried sand and again compacted the area.

A separate area of the drive (behind the metal gates to the garage) is being completed as a separate Resin Bound project. This will be installed in Daltex Silver to match the Grey Tegula block paving.

The Beginning

Our clients had a large area of turf next to a patio that they were fed up with and wanted to improve with a resin bound install.

Work we carried out

The turf was excavated and new block edgings were installed with a curved border to give a nice design.

New type-1 Hardcore was installed and compacted and an open course of bitumen installed. The area was then compacted again ready for Resin installation once the weather was good enough.

Autumn Quartz aggregate was hand trowelled at 15mm for foot traffic. The result is a much brighter and cheerful garden that looks superb.

The Beginning

Our clients wanted to replace their large loose gravel driveway with a resin bound installation as they found the loose gravel hard work and wanted something attractive and less maintenance.

Work we carried out

The driveway was split into two sections to make the drive look less “carpark” like and a block edging was installed leaving a border at the entrance where loose gravel could be used to also break up the materials.

New type-1 Hordcore was installed and compacted and finished with a bitumen top. The area was then compacted again and left ready for Resin installation.

Golden Pea aggregate was chosen and a mixture of 1-3 and 2-5mm was used, trowelled at 18-20mm for vehicular traffic is UV resistant resin.

The Beginning

Our client wanted to replace her block paved driveway with something that looked better, wouldn’t start looking old and requiring maintenance and at the same time extend the area for better parking.

Work we carried out

To increase the parking area of the driveway we removed the turf whilst excavating the old block paving.

We then installed an entirely new base using MOT Type-1 hardcore. Once whackered down numerous times new edging blocks were installed.

The install area was then topped with 14mm open bitumen at around 50mm and once fully oxidized Daltex Silver aggregate was hand trowelled at 18-20mm ready for vehicle traffic.

Our customer is over the moon with the finished result.
