Gravel Driveways come in a wide variety of colours and sizes. At Peterborough Improvements we have relationships with specialist aggregate suppliers, with a huge range of popular and complimentary colour options we are happy to be able to assist you in finding the one most suitable for you.
All of our gravel installations are installed with a Geo-textile membrane fitted underneath as standard, as this help prevent stone moving into the underlying base material as well as prevent weeds from growing through from underneath. Driveway installations will also benefit from an MOT Type-1 sub-base to help prevent any sink-age.
Angular gravel is best choice for driveways as the stone isn’t as easily displaced when driven over compared to a more rounded gravel that may move. We also recommend an aggregate size of 14=20mm to help prevent any gravel getting stuck between vehicle tyres.
Types of gravel for driveways we recommend include – granite, basalt, quartz and flint.
Stunning decorative gravel paths can be created utilising the vast range of decorative gravels we have access to. Similar to driveway use, we recommend using angular gravels as they lock together better which reduces displacement when walked over.
Garden gravel can also be used in borders, raised beds, flower beds, as well as in water features. With different sizes and colours available, it is a cost-effective way to brighten up any garden.
