Britney Bronze Resin Driveway Being Installed in Werrington

Resin Bound Driveway Install in Werrington

The Beginning

Our customer had a driveway that was mostly concrete with turf at the front of the property.

It was in desperate need of upgrading and extra space required for parking.

Work we carried out

The customer decided on a Resin Bound installation and to extend the parking area into the front turf area with just a corner section of about 1m to install a raid border for planting.

The groundwork was excavated with just a small area of the concrete to beyond the driveway gates suitable for overlaying.

MOT Type-1 hardcore was installed and new charcoal blocks used to edge the entire installation.

Open course bitumen was laid and the entire area troweled in Britney Bronze aggregate bound in UVR Resin.

A massive transformation that will require next to no maintenance.

The Beginning

Our customer had an old tarmac driveway that had seen better days he wished to replace with something easier to maintain and that would look much nicer.

Work we carried out

We suggested a Resin Bound driveway as some of the existing base could be used which would bring the pricing down to a similar price to Block Paving but without the maintenance.

We excavated the front of the drive which would be taking vehicular traffic and installed a new open course bitumen base. New edging blocks were installed and the area split to create a separate pathway.

The main drive was finished in Daltex Red aggregate with the pathway finished in Autumn Quartz. Both areas hand troweled in 7.5kg UVR Resin at 18-20mm.

Two Resin Bound Driveway’s Completed in Longthorpe

The beginning

Our customers had a two shared access driveways that were tarmac they wanted to improve the look of as they were prone to puddling and difficult to keep looking nice.

Work we carried out

One of the driveways was extended slightly to improve the parking area. New block edgings were installed around the perimeter to house the Resin Bound surfacing we had planned for the installs. The first driveway was troweled and a metal edging strip used to park the boundary between both drives but give the impression the install was completed as one. A few days later (when we finally had some fair weather) the second area was completed. Both areas were machine polished with hover trowel to increase bonding strength and overall look. A lovely transformation that both customers are extremely happy with.

Damaged Resin Driveway Replaced in March

The beginning

Our customers had a Resin bound driveway that had been installed a few years ago but not at the correct depths so it had failed. Unfortunately the company that installed the drive are no longer trading so the customer contacted us to see if it could be repaired,

Work we carried out

Unfortunately the company that installed the driveway originally had used a cheap non UV Resin and troweled in in areas way below the required depth, hence the driveway had failed. To rectify, the driveway Resin Surface was lifted and new blocks were installed at the correct heights so the correct depth of resin could be troweled. New “Carnival” blend of aggregate was hand troweled, bound in UVR Resin at 18mm. The end result is a lovely looking driveway that took just a day and a half to complete.
