The Beginning

We were contacted by a couple who wanted to change their gravel driveway at their lovely property in Maxey to something nicer looking at with less maintenance.

Work we carried out

All the gravel was removed and the existing base made good with MOT Type-1 hardcore.

The entire install area had new blocks installed around the perimiter and open course bitumen laid to make the install fully permeable and SUDS compliant.

All manhole covers were lifted and reset with recessed covers and the install was finished in Autumn Quartz aggregate bound in UVR Resin for vehicular traffic.

A stunning change to the property that the customers are over the moon with.

The Beginning

The customers wanted to replace their slabbed driveway with something easier to walk on as the slabs had moved over the years, and something that would require little to no maintenance.

They had been given a quotation from another company that yet again said it would be perfectly okay to Resin on top of the slabs even though the install is to be used for vehicular traffic.

This is not the case. Resin bound can be installed on top of two types of existing bases for a driveway – Concrete and Tarmac. It can be overlaid onto over surfaces such as slabs and block paving but the base needs to be checked by one of our team beforehand to check it is suitable and it can only be used for foot traffic.

Be very cautious of anyone insisting it is okay to overlay onto slabs or block paving for vehicular traffic as this is definitely not the case.

Work we carried out

The entire area of slabs excavated and new MOT Type-1 hardcore was installed and compacted. – MOT Type-1 is extremely important. Many companies will use their own recycled or cheaper hardcore material which is not fine enough and will create voids due to the concrete and brick being too large. Inferior quality material is liable to failure under loading and will be susceptible to frost or moisture movement.

New blocks were then installed to the perimeter of the install for edging restraints and the previous slabs that were used for the side of the ramp to the front door were replaced with matching KL blocks to massively improve the aesthetics.

Once all the block work was completed open course bitumen was installed to make the install fully permeable and SUDS compliant. – Some companies use concrete as this is cheaper and easier to install but this does not make the install fully permeable as water will simply sit on top of the concrete.

The install was finished in Autumn Quartz aggregate bound in UVR resin for vehicular traffic.

A huge improvement to the look of the property but also now much easier to walk on.

The install is weed resistant, oil resistant, wont fade in the sun and allows the water to pass straight through it.

Very happy customers.

The Beginning

We were contacted by our customers who wanted to pursue the installation of a Resin Bound driveway at the property in Farcet, Peterborough.

They had been given a quotation from another company who were insistent it would be perfectly okay to install the resin over the top of the currently installed block paving. Although this is perfectly okay to do it the base is solid and the install is for something like a patio area where there is only going to be foot traffic, it is a big no no for a driveway as the lateral forces when the drive comes under weight from a vehicle can cause the blocks to move and lead to reflective cracking.

Work we carried out

We recommended a full install which means excavating the current block paving, test hole digging to see depth of hardcore and top up and compact as required.

New blocks are then installed and open course bitumen laid to make the install fully permeable and SUDS compliant.

To break the area up the customers decided to install to diamond shapes within the drive and have these finished in Daltex Silver to create a feature.

The rest of the installation was finished in Titanium bound in UVR resin trowelled at 18-20mm for vehicular traffic.

The customers are extremely pleased with the finished result which will require next to no maintenance.

The Beginning

Our customer had a concrete driveway that he wanted to improve the look of with minimum fuss.

Work we carried out

After deciding on a Resin Bound overlay in Britney Bronze, our installers cut back the install to set new edging block restraints in charcoal.

The old, ugly looking manhole cover was removed and a new recessed cover set in place.

The entire driveway was then trowelled in Britney Bronze aggregate bound in UVR resin for vehicular traffic.

Our customer is thrilled with the result and the install has (as usual) generated a lot of interest with the neighbours.

The entire install took just 3 days.

The Beginning

We had been contacted by Deaf Blind UK to overhaul their residence area in Peterborough.

It was recommended that Resin Bound was used for pathways as this would provide a good solid surface available in a variety of colours that would also require minimum maintenance.

Existing railings would be taken down and replaced with bright blue railings of the recommended heights and sizes for vision impaired residents.

Work we carried out

The existing base was prepared for new resin bound pathways, old railings were removed and new railings installed with the Resin bound pathways and block edgings installed as the railings were installed to keep disruption to a minimum for residents.

The Beginning

We were contacted by a building company who had a client they were completing some work for and wanted to install a Resin bound driveway.

Work we carried out

The building company dealt with installing the hardcore and block edgings, leaving us to install the bitumen base and trowel the Resin.

Britney Bronze aggregate was chosen and the install was troweled at 18-20mm in UVR Resin.

The Beginning

Our customer contacted us for a quotation to overlay their parents driveway with a Resin Bound finish.

Work we carried out

After considering a number of different quotations our client decided to opt for our installation which was carried out over 3 days.

New edging blocks were installed along with a new recessed manhole cover and step.

The drive was troweled with Daltex Silver aggregate bound in UVR resin for vehicular traffic.

The Beginning

Our client approached us to complete a Resin Bound driveway for their property in Pinchbeck.

Work we carried out

The driveway was excavated and a new base of MOT Type-1 hardcore installed.

Charcoal block edgings were fitted and the entire installation compacted, ready for an open course of Bitumen.

Once this had been installed the entire project was troweled with Gold Pea aggregate bound in UVR Resin.

The Beginning

Our clients had a gravel area at the front of their property that they wanted to improve with a better looking product and at the same time decrease the amount of maintenance required to keep it looking good.

Work we carried out

A resin bound installation was completed with two different colours, Daltex Black for the main of the driveway with a border completed in Daltex Silver.

A stepped up area was also installed to compliment the front of the house entrance.
