The Beginning

Our client wasn’t too sure if she wanted Block Paving or Resin Bound surfacing so we provided advice and quotations for both.

The current concrete driveway was in quite a mess so it was important to install something that was going to transform the area and be easy to maintain.

Work we carried out

After considering Block Paving and Resin Bound surfacing our client decided that she preferred the look of a Resin Bound installation not only for the aesthetics but also because it will require far less maintenance and look better than blocks in years to come.

We excavated the old concrete driveway, installed a new base with MOT-Type1 hardcore and an open course of Bitumen, this makes the install permeable and fully suds compliant.

Pewter coloured edging blocks were used and the install finished with Golden Pea aggregate bound in UVR resin trowelled between 18-20mm for vehicular traffic.

The Beginning

Our customers had a Resin driveway that had been installed by an incompetent installer. The whole install needed lifting and starting again from scratch.

The resin was troweled totally at the wrong depth meaning there was less than 5mm of aggregate in places which had caused the install to break away.

Work we carried out

Rather than install the exact same drive, the customer decided to change the design altogether and split the install into two colours.

The old resin was lifted and metal edging strips were installed to split the colours. Manholes were lifted and reset to the correct heights so a depth of 18mm could be obtained for the install.

Once all the groundwork was set, the border was troweled in Celtic Plumb aggregate 1-3mm and the centre of the drive in Pearl Quartz 1-3mm all bound in the latest UVR Resin.

The Beginning

The second part of an install for our client in Orton was to transform their side path and rear patio area.

The areas were slabbed and had lots of unsightly manhole covers as well as a brick wall near the clients shed that surrounded lots of loose gravel.

Work we carried out

All the slabs, gravel and brick wall were excavated and new MOT Type-1 Hardcore was then installed and compacted with new charcoal edgings added.

An open course of Bitumen was used to secure everything in place and give a fully permeable install, it was then finished by hand troweling Daltex Silver Aggregate bound in UVR resin for foot traffic.

The Beginning

Our customer had a tarmac driveway which had seen better days as well as a slabbed pathway and patio area at the side and rear of the house we will show in a separate portfolio item.

Work we carried out

The front driveway was extended with a new pathway and new edging blocks were installed to contain the existing tarmac drive and new base work. The drive was troweled in Celtic Plumb aggregate with the pathway troweled in Daltex Silver, both bound in UVR resin for vehicular traffic.

A lovely choice of colours, and the first time we have used the new Celtic Plumb aggregate on an install.

The Beginning

Our customer had a graveled area at the front of their property in Park Farm that they wanted to improve the look of and reduce the maintenance.

The area was built on different levels to neighbours so there was a steep drop in height from the gravel area down to a shed which they wanted to improve aesthetically and prevent water pooling.

Work we carried out

A resin bound driveway was chosen as with a Bitumen base the entire install is SUDS compliant and fully permeable meaning no sitting water as it simply soaks through the Resin into the sub-base.

The area was excavated and a geotextile membrane installed to prevent migration of fine soil particles.

MOT Type-1 Hardcore was then installed and compacted with new charcoal edgings added where required to split install from neighbours gravel boards.

An open course of bitumen was added and compacted before Resin was troweled at around 20mm for vehicular traffic.

The choice of Daltex Silver has complimented the house with a nice modern finish.

The Beginning

Our customer had recently organised the purchase of the property for his great aunt who was concerned about walking on the gravel driveway and wanted a solution that would look great and require little to no maintenance.

Work we carried out

A resin bound driveway was the obvious choice as it would transform the look of the property and with the vast possibilities when it comes to colour we could find something to perfectly match the properties brickwork.

As well as this, a resin driveway wont fade in the sun and requires no maintenance when it comes to things like weeds which alternative products such as block paving struggle with.

We suggested splitting the area with a pathway to make the install look less commercial and a colour choice of Staffordshire Pink for the main drive and Daltex Silver for the pathway was decided on a complimented with a Charcoal block edging.

Previous manhole covers were replaced with recessed ones to camouflage and the the entire project of 130sqm was completed in 5 working days.

The end result looks stunning and our customers couldn’t be happier.

The Beginning

The front area had a Holly tree that was surrounded by loose gravel. The area constantly required weeding and wasn’t really an area that could be walked on comfortably.

Work we carried out

The loose gravel was removed and the area dug out with type-1 hardcore installed and compacted for a new base.

Edging blocks were then installed around the entire install area and a decorative circle was created using blocks to make a feature of the tree.

The area was then concreted and all the blocks sealed for a darker colour and to repel water.

Once everything had cured the area was troweled in Daltex Silver Resin bound in UV resistant resin.

No more weeds.

The Beginning

Our customer had a small driveway in front of their garage that they wanted to increase in width.

Work we carried out

As the current drive was concrete we recommended a resin install as the existing concrete could be utilised and the only excavation required would be for the extended area.

The whole install was completed in just 3 working days and has transformed the drive not to mention massively improving the size.

The Beginning

Our customer had a property that was built on a raft meaning a full block paving install to the property wasn’t possible and she would need to leave the existing concrete raft which acted as a pathway around the property but would leave the install looking unsightly after the block paving install.

Work we carried out

Once the block paving was installed leaving enough height above the existing concrete raft, we hand troweled Staffordshire Pink Resin at 15mm with UV resistant resin.

This complimented the block paving really well and actually improved the install as it broke the driveway up and made it look less car park like.

The Resin will require next to no maintenance, will not fade and is fully permeable, so no puddles.

The Beginning

Our customer had a crazy paved patio area that had seen better days and a gravel area down to a pond that they wanted to improve.

Work we carried out

We suggested a resin bound installation for the patio and got to work excavating areas that required a new base.

Once the new base was completed we installed the customers choice of Brindle edging blocks and finished the install with “Alloy” resin aggregate, hand troweled in UVR resin.
